Diagnostic Endoscopy

A gastroscopy is a quick, well-tolerated procedure used to inspect the oesophagus, stomach, and upper small bowel. It is performed under local anaesthetic throat spray or light sedation and usually takes less than ten minutes.

Typical reasons for gastroscopy include:

If abnormalities are found, biopsies can be taken immediately for analysis.

Submit an enquiry to arrange a consultant-performed diagnostic endoscopy.

BRAVO Capsule pH Monitoring

The BRAVO capsule test measures acid exposure in the oesophagus over 48–96 hours.
A small wireless capsule is attached during a brief gastroscopy and transmits data to a recorder worn by the patient, providing a precise measurement of acid reflux.

This test is particularly valuable when assessing suitability for anti-reflux surgery or when symptoms persist despite medication.

The capsule detaches naturally and passes through the body without any discomfort.

Therapeutic Endoscopy and Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG)

Endoscopy not only allows diagnosis but also enables treatment during the same session.
Therapeutic endoscopy can be used to manage a variety of conditions affecting the oesophagus and stomach, often avoiding the need for further surgery.

Oesophageal and gastric dilatation can relieve swallowing difficulties caused by narrowing or scar tissue — for example, after reflux or bariatric surgery.
In patients who have had previous gastric sleeve or bypass surgery, endoscopy can also be used to treat postoperative stricturesnon-healing ulcers, and pouch or sleeve dilation, offering a minimally invasive alternative to revision surgery.

All therapeutic endoscopic procedures are performed personally by Mr Fehervari, with direct consultant review before and after treatment, ensuring continuity and individualised care.

If abnormalities are found, biopsies can be taken immediately for analysis.
