He completed his surgical training through the North West London academic programme at Imperial College, followed by a Royal College of Surgeons fellowship in bariatric and anti‑reflux surgery. He has also undertaken visiting fellowships at the Mayo Clinic (USA) and the University of Strasbourg (France).
With a PhD in Clinical Surgery and two master’s degrees, he has published over 100 scientific papers and presented his research at more than 200 international meetings.
